Pretesh has a wealth of experience dealing with the full range of criminal offences. 

Starting out in a medium-sized Birmingham firm, Pretesh quickly ascended through the ranks to become the head of a busy Crown Court department. He carved a reputation as one of the country’s most respected fraud and financial crime lawyers regularly instructed in some of the largest and most complex fraud and money laundering cases ever tried in the UK.

Having moved to a prominent national firm, he established and built the reputation of the firm’s Birmingham office of which he was partner for over 10 years before spearheading the inception of APL Law. 

The expertise, authority and fresh-thinking solutions that Pretesh brings to his cases is the backbone of his success and embodies the ethos of everything we do at APL Law.

Panama Begum

DIRECTOR

Panama has extensive experience and prides herself on representing clients at all stages of their case from the police station through to the Crown Court and appeal courts.

Her tenacity and attention to detail has won her plaudits throughout her blossoming career from the judiciary, senior counsel and clients alike. Panama’s results speak for themselves. She is an exceptionally bright and very personable lawyer with a high success ratio at trial and an ability to cut to the heart of complex issues quickly and to our client’s advantage. 

Panama has enjoyed huge success in defending those charged with homicide offences (murder and manslaughter) and is, consequently, regularly instructed in such matters. Her ability to construct a solid base from which to defend the most gravest of criminal charges is second to none. 

Panama also has a proven track record of successfully defending youths and vulnerable defendants. Her personal touch combined with a sharp intellect afford her a rare ability to provide such defendants with a robust defence even if their personal circumstances do not.
